So, latest from ARP on this is that the stud part number that monoxidechild provided was totally wrong with 1.25mm thread pitch on both ends! Utter fail.

I've filled out the spreadsheet form for stud finding and submitted it for analysis by ARP, we'll see what they come back with.

The longer stud that I mentioned above is incorrectly listed on Summit's site as being 8740 steel, when it's actually "ARP2000".

The undercut on this is 11.278mm, 0.278mm more than the Mazda bolt shank. In contrast, the part in use by quite a few FE3 owners is undercut to a very-thin 10.414mm. IE, 0.586mm less than the stock Mazda bolt shank! No wonder Alan doesn't recommend them for high cylinder pressure applications!!!

I'm going to investigate having some precision spacers made up to use the longer stronger studs and bigger more appropriate nuts/washers.

Order placed! Need to hit up the head gasket man next. Then it's down to the garage to clean the bottom end out and start putting it all back together
