Had a measure up the other night, I ordered a stack of 5 washers, however it'll take at least 6, probably 7, and in the case of a shaved head/block or thinner head gasket, possibly 8. I'm going to order 30 more, and if I don't end up using some, then that's OK. Aside from the sheer height of the spacer stack, it's looking like a winner. It's a shame they don't make a suitable stud off the shelf, but once dialed in, this solution should work very well indeed.

Yesterday 31 more washers arrived! Now I just need to get it all cleaned up and test fit to see how many I really need in each stack.

And get a suitable gasket...
And mod the head for drainage...
And get the head skimmed to a fine finish...
